Funds and Fundraising Update

B2R has worked with the Vermont New Hampshire Asylum Support Network (VTNHASN) on grants through the Canaday Family Foundation and the State of VT. Both of those grants have been completed. However, the VTNHASN has been awarded a new Canaday grant which will focus a bit on direct services for each of the members of the network and help hire a part-time manager for organizing meetings of the network, coordinating communication, etc.

We are also applying for another state grant through the State Refugee Office, both as a network and with one of our partners, USCRI (United States Committee on Refugees and Immigrants). The State Office of Refugees is urging us to work closely together with partners, given the current situation for all immigrants and the funding cuts for refugees. The VTNHASN has much to share about how to survive with no federal funding while we learn more about refugee services.

Big thanks to the Vermont Bar Foundation for awarding a grant of $5000 to B2R in honor of Richard Cassidy, a Rutland attorney who worked tirelessly for justice. The grant will be used to help cover the increased costs of applications and legal fees.

Beyond grants, we are thrilled that we have another sustainer to add to our small list of supporters who give something every month. Please consider that as an option – it helps with planning our budget. One time donations are always welcome too!
