April Arts Marathon

Bridge to Rutland’s Annual Arts Marathon enables artists to help families and individuals seeking asylum.

We held our first Arts Marathon in March of 2023. It raised more than $10,000 to cover housing, legal, and living expenses of asylum seekers in Rutland. In 2024 the Arts Marathon raised $20,000. They were successful because of the generous artists who shared examples of their art and creative process virtually with the generous donors who sponsored them.

This year we are inviting artists of every kind–writers, painters, potters, photographers, musicians, textile and mixed media artists, etc.–to join this April’s Arts Marathon. We welcome participation from all levels of experience from “just having fun” to professionals!

Each participating artist is given an individual fundraising page on our website where they can invite family, friends, and members of the community to sponsor them.

During April, at least 5 days each week, all artists will email their sponsors examples of their creative efforts with explanations.

Artists may register between February 1-27 on the Bridge to Rutland website. Find the registration form here.

Sponsors may sign up to sponsor one or more artists between March 1-30. Simply go to the list of artists and choose one to sponsor. Each artist must be sponsored by going to their individual page and choosing a sponsorship amount. Sponsor as many as you’d like!

We hope you will join us in helping asylum seekers to rebuild their lives and to strengthen the community.
