2026 Artist: Sabra Shulman
As Arts Marathon artists we will send a different example of our creative process and work to everyone who sponsors us, 3-5 days per week during April. We invite our friends, family, colleagues and anyone else who cares about art and wants to support Bridge to Rutland’s important work to sponsor us. Together we will help welcome new Americans who, in turn, will add immeasurably to our communities.
Sabra‘s Arts Marathon Goal
I will be knitting 3 or 4 projects that use beading as a artistic component to the pieces.Sabra‘s Background
I was taught the basics by my grandmother when I was about 8. Subsequently, I made a bubble gum pink scarf full of dropped stitches for my grandfather who lived in Alabama. I'm sure he got a lot of use from it! Knitting is one of my ways of relaxing. It forces me to sit still and the more complicated the work, the better. I love the way lace requires me to think about what I'm doing. I'm always intrigued by learning something new. What better way to have fun with my hobby than using it to bring support for our asylum seekers who are so industriously trying to make new lives for themselves!
