2026 Artist: Glenn Mayer

As Arts Marathon artists we will send a different example of our creative process and work to everyone who sponsors us, 3-5 days per week during April. We invite our friends, family, colleagues and anyone else who cares about art and wants to support Bridge to Rutland’s important work to sponsor us. Together we will help welcome new Americans who, in turn, will add immeasurably to our communities.

Glenn‘s Arts Marathon Goal

I will post ink drawings, primarily Vermont landscapes, portraits, and a few political cartoons!

Glenn‘s Background

My earliest drawings were inspired by comic books, and to this day, the human figure is my "go to" subject, and ink is my favorite medium. Ink is very unforgiving; one learns to forge ahead and live with mistakes. I enjoy the challenge of producing something expressive and meaningful with only black and white lines (and the occasional wash). My work is often political, highlighting people or issues that are consequential in today's world. In that spirit, I'm excited to participate in the B2R Arts Marathon, as I see it as a wonderful merging of art and social purpose.
