2026 Artist: Emily Brookman

As Arts Marathon artists we will send a different example of our creative process and work to everyone who sponsors us, 3-5 days per week during April. We invite our friends, family, colleagues and anyone else who cares about art and wants to support Bridge to Rutland’s important work to sponsor us. Together we will help welcome new Americans who, in turn, will add immeasurably to our communities.

Emily‘s Arts Marathon Goal

I will work on a series of paintings related to a story I am working on.

Emily‘s Background

My name is Emily and I've been living in Rutland most of my life. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else and I am raising my family here. I have created art since I was a child and it has been a huge part of my life for a long time. Last year I was able to have my first professional solo art exhibit featuring 50 paintings that I created within 70 days. Paintings were done in acrylic, oil and gouache and had a large range of topics. The art explored my life and experiences and forced me to be very vulnerable. I was drawn to the arts marathon because I keep wanting to help more and this will help more directly. I care deeply about this community and I want to be a part of its success.
