2026 Artist: Elsie Gilmore

As Arts Marathon artists we will send a different example of our creative process and work to everyone who sponsors us, 3-5 days per week during April. We invite our friends, family, colleagues and anyone else who cares about art and wants to support Bridge to Rutland’s important work to sponsor us. Together we will help welcome new Americans who, in turn, will add immeasurably to our communities.

I will be creating collage art every day.

Elsie‘s Background

I started creating collage art in 2022. As an environmentalist, I love that collage art is often created from things that might otherwise end up as trash, like old encyclopedias, used postcards, random scraps of paper, old magazines, etc. As with all my art, much of my collage ends up being political or activist in nature. Most of the collage I currently make is in the form of postcards that are sent to my paid Substack subscribers each month. During April, I will work on postcards, and I might make some entries in my collage journal. I have a list of collage prompts that I purchased from an artist online that I may use for inspiration. My sponsor updates will all be via YouTube videos.
