2024 Artist: Gale Finlayson

As Arts Marathon artists we will send a different example of our creative process and work to everyone who sponsors us, five days per week during April. We invite our friends, family, colleagues and anyone else who cares about art and wants to support Bridge to Rutland’s important work to sponsor us. Together we will help welcome new Americans who, in turn, will add immeasurably to our communities.

I will share my father's oil paintings and my photography.

Gale‘s Background

My father, Walter Finlayson, was a naturally talented artist who also took formal art lessons in oil painting from a famous pulp illustrator, H. Winfield Scott. When I was growing up, Dad was in his illustration phase: Native Americans, pirates, knights, and Robin Hood.

I have always enjoyed taking pictures of nature and places I love, especially of the lake and our log cabin in Maine.
