2024 Artist: Dee Bort

As Arts Marathon artists we will send a different example of our creative process and work to everyone who sponsors us, five days per week during April. We invite our friends, family, colleagues and anyone else who cares about art and wants to support Bridge to Rutland’s important work to sponsor us. Together we will help welcome new Americans who, in turn, will add immeasurably to our communities.

Dee‘s Arts Marathon Goal

I will create greeting cards, including the backgrounds, images and sentiments. My posts will detail the processes, equipment and techniques used to complete each project.

Dee‘s Background

My friend, Deb Roy, invited me to join her in a group that created cards using various techniques and materials. She knew I was an avid scrapbooker. I was so inspired by the women in the group, each of whom has a unique style. I really enjoy using different techniques to create stenciled, inked or painted backgrounds and "papers" to be used in my cards.

The artwork that appears here is diverse and uniquely colorful. The Gallery is rich. Our community will thrive, is thriving, with the diversity of its people. I hope the Arts Marathon will help support those seeking asylum in our community.
