As Arts Marathon artists we will send a different example of our creative process and work to everyone who sponsors us, five days per week during April. We invite our friends, family, colleagues and anyone else who cares about art and wants to support Bridge to Rutland’s important work to sponsor us. Together we will help welcome new Americans who, in turn, will add immeasurably to our communities.

Deb‘s Background

I am a local Vermont artist who has been making creative pieces in various mediums for several years. Since 2013 I have focused on paper art and recently began working with Mixed Media. Mixed Media is a layering process where artists use found items, nature, laces, fabric, inks, paints, gesso, stamps, drawings, and any other items you can think of to make 3-D layered artwork. Many of the pieces you see here have 8 to 10 layers or more on each piece in order to get the desired effect. All pieces are one-of-a-kind. I sometimes use quotes to tie the piece together or just for fun, or I may leave the piece without any quotes at all. I am inspired by nature, colors, other artists' work, new techniques, new places, and just about anything quirky! I have always been interested in the
arts and various types of craftwork all my life.
