We have capped off the Easter season with our great feast of Pentecost. Pentecost is my favorite liturgical holiday – a day in which I have clearly heard and responded to the invitations of the Holy Spirit, whether in my vocation to family or my vocation to the accompaniment of migrants. So it is quite appropriate that in this season we are also celebrating the Missionaries of the Eucharist, a congregation that has listened attentively to the invitation of the Spirit and responded with great love and courage, including through their many years of accompaniment of migrants in Nogales, Sonora. One of my great joys is to work in partnership with the Missionaries of the Eucharist and with each of you to advance God’s extraordinary work of love.
