2025 Artist: Bob Smith
As Arts Marathon artists we will send a different example of our creative process and work to everyone who sponsors us, five days per week during April. We invite our friends, family, colleagues and anyone else who cares about art and wants to support Bridge to Rutland’s important work to sponsor us. Together we will help welcome new Americans who, in turn, will add immeasurably to our communities.
Bob‘s Arts Marathon Goal
I am sharing a hodge-podge of art this year on the following subjects: The albatross who nest and raise their young here on Kauai, the Taro Patch and the production of poi, the staple of the Polynesian diet, sketches from European tours, and a selection of paintings past and present. Hope you join me on this odyssey.Bob‘s Background

I've dabbled in creating in the mediums of ink, watercolor and acrylics sporadically for years. Here on Kauai, where we live, there is such an endless supply of tropical beauty that I never run out of scenes to illustrate. When my wife and I travel abroad I bring a small portable sketch/watercolor book to sketch a quick record of our explorations. This helps to embed future memories. In 2023 I converted a number of my Visions of Kauai paintings into 3x5 notecards which are not being sold here on island. I believe Bridge to Rutland is a much needed and worthy cause and am delighted to support it in this 2025 Art Marathon.
