2025 Artist: Alicia Williams

As Arts Marathon artists we will send a different example of our creative process and work to everyone who sponsors us, five days per week during April. We invite our friends, family, colleagues and anyone else who cares about art and wants to support Bridge to Rutland’s important work to sponsor us. Together we will help welcome new Americans who, in turn, will add immeasurably to our communities.

Alicia‘s Arts Marathon Goal
I will be displaying my work spanning the last 10 years.
Alicia‘s Background

I have been creating art for as long as I can remember. I began painting more seriously around the age of 12, spending long evenings painting with my aunt, who was an artist. I used to display my work every summer at the Rutland fair as a youth. I'm often inspired by my interests in music, classic cinema, and the art deco period, but I'm always exploring new subjects. My proudest accomplishment is the feeling I get after each piece is completed. Knowing that I challenged myself and did not give up despite the difficulties along the way, and in turn brought a whole new thing into being. I don't typically allow myself to do more than one painting at a time so that the one I'm working on gets all my focus and doesn't get put on the back burner in favor of something else. I heard about the Arts Marathon through someone who had spotted my work in a local gallery and I decided to get involved and support such a worthy cause.
