2024 Artist: Syd Veverka

As Arts Marathon artists we will send a different example of our creative process and work to everyone who sponsors us, five days per week during April. We invite our friends, family, colleagues and anyone else who cares about art and wants to support Bridge to Rutland’s important work to sponsor us. Together we will help welcome new Americans who, in turn, will add immeasurably to our communities.

Syd‘s Arts Marathon Goal

I’ll be travelling on the road in my little van for the month, drawing and painting every day, and stopping to visit friends across the country.

Syd‘s Background

Hello! I’m Syd Veverka, a nomadic visual artist. I freelance doing Illustration and Mural work for mostly small businesses, and I also paint and draw for fun. “Fun” meaning, for the sake of art and personal exploration. I’ve been heavily drawn to the visual arts since I was young and have been figuring out my own relationship to line, shape, color, texture and balance ever since. I’ve spent the last handful of years making art for others but am needing time to create for myself, so I’ve scheduled this road trip to explore solo. It will be a good month to follow my work!
