2024 Artist: Sabra Shulman

As Arts Marathon artists we will send a different example of our creative process and work to everyone who sponsors us, five days per week during April. We invite our friends, family, colleagues and anyone else who cares about art and wants to support Bridge to Rutland’s important work to sponsor us. Together we will help welcome new Americans who, in turn, will add immeasurably to our communities.

Sabra‘s Arts Marathon Goal
I will be creating knitting projects that show a variety of techniques as well as showing some older projects.
Sabra‘s Background

I first learned to knit from my grandmother when I was 8. I then proceeded to make a bubblegum pink scarf with many dropped stitches as a present for my grandfather. I'm sure he got a lot of use from it! Now I really enjoy the process of learning new skills and creating wearable art. Most of my projects are given away to others or auctioned to raise funds for a worthy cause. The Arts Marathon is just such a worthy cause. I recognize how privileged I am to live in a country where I don't need to fear for my life on a daily basis. The items I make during the Arts Marathon will be available to purchase with proceeds going to Bridge to Rutland.
