2024 Artist: Luis Sotero
As Arts Marathon artists we will send a different example of our creative process and work to everyone who sponsors us, five days per week during April. We invite our friends, family, colleagues and anyone else who cares about art and wants to support Bridge to Rutland’s important work to sponsor us. Together we will help welcome new Americans who, in turn, will add immeasurably to our communities.

Translation:
I began to draw in a detention center where I was for a year, only because I was a migrant in 2015. Now I want to let people know the story of thousands of migrants like me who walked through the desert escaping from violence. My works tell the story in raw realism that many don't want to see, or that they ignore, and I hope to raise awareness in people about the complexity that is being a migrant. Today, seven years after being deported, I am proud to be a volunteer teaching migrants how to express their feelings through painting. Also, my works are traveling in expositions in the USA.
